Our History Kamp KACE (Kids Against Cancer Everywhere) was founded in 1986. It is located in central Minnesota, outside of Vergas, on 88 acres of wilderness, lake shore and meadows. It can accommodate up to 100 campers. Doctors and nurses from Innovis/Dakota Clinic and the MeritCare/Roger Maris Cancer Center make up a large part of the staff. They are on site and on duty at all times to distribute medications and provide any necessary treatment. Their dedication makes it possible for school-aged children in all stages of cancer treatment to attend camp. Excitement, fun, and adventure are planned for campers. They have the opportunity to take part in recreational activities such as swimming, canoeing, crafts, games, pottery, candlemaking, drawing, beading, camping and more. A fishing excursion is also planned. Music, skits, parties and the traditional evening campfires add to the fun. Each cabin accommodates campers and two adult counselors. Handicap accessible cabins are available.
Staff Also available on the campsite to all campers are:
Fees Each year 25 - 30 out of every 100,000 children younger than 15 years are diagnosed with cancer.
