 dates for camp

August 5 - 10  2007

       Our History
Kamp KACE (Kids Against Cancer Everywhere) was founded in 1986.  It is located in central Minnesota, outside of Vergas, on 88 acres of wilderness, lake shore and meadows.  It can accommodate up to 100 campers.

Doctors and nurses from Innovis/Dakota Clinic and the MeritCare/Roger Maris Cancer Center make up a large part of the staff.  They are on site and on duty at all times to distribute medications and provide any necessary treatment.  Their dedication makes it possible for school-aged children in all stages of cancer treatment to attend camp.

Excitement, fun, and adventure are planned for campers. They have the opportunity to take part in recreational activities such as swimming, canoeing, crafts, games, pottery, candlemaking, drawing, beading, camping and more. A fishing excursion is also planned. Music, skits, parties and the traditional evening campfires add to the fun.

Each cabin accommodates campers and two adult counselors. Handicap accessible cabins are available.

     Staff
The well-trained and caring staff at Kamp KACE is committed to making each camper's week a time of laughter, love and closely supervised adventure. Each camper receives individualized attention, so that he or she can experience a fantastic and safe week of fun at Trowbridge.

Also available on the campsite to all campers are:

  • Nourishing meals and snacks
  • A lodge for indoor and evening programs
  • A crafts room in which campers create various projects
  • Beautiful and clean water of Trowbridge Lake, providing a safe area for supervised swimming and water activities.

    Fees
Generous donations by individuals and organizations ensure that camp registration fees are affordable for all families. All children who have cancer, as well as their siblings, are welcome. Registration fee assistance is available.

Each year 25 - 30 out of every 100,000 children younger than 15 years are diagnosed with cancer.
